Inspector General Douglas Gow deals gently
with violence. In Connecticut, where Steve Manos was assaulted
in his Local 230, Ron Nobili was attacked at a district council
meeting, Gow found threats of violence to be "regrettable,"
mildly reprimanded one of the offending officials, and stated
that "everyone can learn from this experience so that it
will not be repeated." Compared to this, the UN did nobly
in Somalia.
An overwhelming library of documents and
press reports on the Laborers consent decree and related oversight
is offered, and it's all free online at http://www.laborers.org.
