FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

RCMP SAY LIUNA ORGANIZED CRIME NOT HIGH END ENOUGH

Hamilton, Ontario, December 9,1998

After receiving an order from Solicitor General of Canada, Andy Scott for a RCMP investigation into LIUNA in August. I met with RCMP Officer Derek Riley of the Hamilton Detachment in earlier this fall. Officer Riley interviewed me for about 2 hours and didn't take the time or effort to look at documentated evidence of serious crime with in LIUNA. On or about November 23, 1998 Andy Scott resigned from his postion as Solicitor-General of Canada and was immediately replaced with Lawrence MacCauley former Federal Minister of Labour.

Last week I contacted the Solicitor of General of Canada's Office in Ottawa and was reassured by George Holmes in the Solictor General's Correspondense Unit that the RCMP were handling the investigation properly and I had nothing to be concerned about because they Solicitor General's Office were monitoring the situation.

On Monday December 7,1998 Derek Riley contacted me to tell me that Bob Goodall OPP Detective Inspector, would be contacting me and my father within in a day or two to set-up a meeting which was to include the Sarnia Police Department.

Today Bob Goodall returned my call and told me that Derek Riley had decided that although Organized Crime exsisted in LIUNA it was not "HighEnd Enough" to spend their budget on. Goodall said that the RCMP only deal with High end Organized Crime. Further the OPP claim that because the offenses in which they have noted occured in Sarnia, Ontario it's out of the OPP jurisdiction.

In the early 80's when the OPP had my father wear a body pack wire system into a LIUNA meeting Sarnia was in the OPP 's jurisdiction.

So I ask the Solicitor-General of Canada if they are waiting for me to become the victim of a homicide and will that be considered "High End Enough" ?
