A former bookkeeper at a Bay Area construction laborers' union was sentenced to three years' probation by a federal judge after she was found guilty of falsifying records so she could divert funds for her personal use.

Officials said Gloria Morales Zuniga of Union City worked as a union officer for Laborers Local 304 in Hayward, where the illegal actions took place from July 1988 through November 1991.
