Compiled by George Gunset

Published: Thursday, May 21, 1998

Still in testy negotiations, the 20,000-member Chicago Laborers Union District Council has voted to strike Chicago-area construction firms on June 1 if bargaining efforts fail to produce a contract. The union last struck area construction firms for eight days in 1991. Its contract expires at midnight May 31.
